To start, jeans are a good option, though a somewhat predictable one. But let's go with the thought for now because we all own a pair of jeans or at least used to. That they must be clean and pressed is a given. For women, choose a well-fitting style and pair it with something a little feminine. A ruffled, soft blouse or a body-skimming knit would be great, but avoid revealing too much cleavage. It's rude and suggests you're ready to jump into bed after dinner.
Reality being what it is, though, it's likely you want to be a little flirtatious or, at least, charming. After all, we want to be considered attractive - even if we're not attracted in return.
For women, here are, ahem, a couple more tips and tools of the trade: Jeans or other pants that fit your butt nicely. Dangling earrings, because they are said to be hypnotic (watch them swing back and forth). High heels, those age-old man mesmerizers.
Guys, you want to wear pants that are not too baggy, but not too tight. Never wear tight pants. More important than your pants, though, is the brand-name shirt. Remember, keep it simple and don't out-dress your date. There's such a thing as too much fashion and it's just bad form. Women want security. Your ultra-trendy look doesn't say you'll make her secure; it says you're vain. I'm not suggesting your date is sizing you up as a meal ticket, but face facts. Women can't help their instincts; they check men out as potential protectors and providers.
