I really enjoy this dvd. The host is supportive and engaging. He does move very slowly through each movement building up to a more fluid movement. He describes the movement in parts each time it’s done. The one thing I would like is for silent fluid practice to be built into each lesson to feel the movement and build muscle memory, rather than always getting prompted. It breaks the rhythm for me and is a bit distracting.

This is a wonderful video for beginners in Tai Chi. Instructor explains each move and shows in detail how to perform the move. Very easy to follow along and enjoyable to participate with him. Will definitely benefit from this video; best one I have found yet for starting out with.

This video takes you step-by-step through a tai chi routine. It is set outdoors in a garden, not in a studio. The only person is the instructor, no dance models or gymnasts. He wears only a t-shirt and yoga pants, not bright spandex costumes.Every posture is broken down in steps, and moved through slowly, with plenty of time to keep up. The instructor has a calm, encouraging voice, and always reminds his viewers to only go so far as their bodies will take them. This is the calm tai chi I was seeking.(This was a perfect description I read, my only added comment is that it is also great for relaxing, meditation and easing one off to sleep, calming voice, wonderful tones and they always have said you can learn more in your sleep.
