Machine is bulky and difficult to move on carpet; the hoses kept popping off, no amount of twisting worked, so I resorted to duct tape to hold the hose both onto the machine and onto the window assembly. The tap to drain water is on the very bottom of the machine, so basically buried in the carpet I have high humidity, so the machine kept shutting off when the reservoir was full, but trying to get the water out-nightmare! Ended up with water in the carpet, took forever to slip a flat enough container underneath to drain the water; and the hose kept popping off. Solution? I had to prop the machine on a plastic footstool, duct tape the hoses back on; take the plug out and leave a large bowl under the tap. But the water outlet is too close to the edge, so again with water in the carpet. So, move the machine further to edge, and hope nobody knocked it over. Plus, I had to keep moving the machine to dry the carpet. I live in a rental apartment, so thought a portable would be more practical than built-in. But, it does work, and kept the apartment cool and reduced the humidity significantly. Too loud for overnight though Not sure about the energy efficiency, my electric bill tripled, but the apartment was very humid, so it was running all day, every day for 2 monthsRead full review
