Before I purchased these speakers I owned a pair of Klipsch RF 82 ll which are great speakers themselves. But I always had a curiosity about the RF-7 ll wondering how much better they were than the 82's. When I received the 7-ll the first thing I noticed was how much larger they were, much larger than the 82's. And the look was night and day, not that the 82's are bad looking but the 7's are beautiful with the vener wood. The ones I have are black. Now what really did it for me was the sound. The sound stage of the 7's is huge, deeper and richer base, more distinctive mids and the 1 3/4 inch tweeter was cleaner and more distinctive. And these towers play loud with not even a hint of distortion. Even at low volume the speakers sound absolutely wonderful. These speakers sound so good that I find myself wanting to listen to them all day and night too. I'm totally satisfied with this purchase and can honestly say these are the last towers I'll be purchasing for a very long time. Nothing bad about these speakers, all good as far as I'm concerned. One thing about horns, either you love them or hate them. Me personally, I love them.Read full review

The seller was awesome the speakers are ok. Definitely takes time for them to break in before they sound good. I personally noticed little improvement over my Bose 501 it replaced. For the price tho I thought it would be more drastic of a change but it wasn’t. When I upgraded my center to a Klipsch RP450 the improvements where dramatic. I really like them but with dual 10 inch woofers I thought it would dramatically increase bass response of the front stage it didn’t . I mainly use it for movies and have it hooked to a onkyo tx nr809 that does a 135 watts per channel and have it calibrated use Audyssey with my personal adjustment like putting the crossover at 60hz. They definitely sound good but I would not say 2000.00 dollars good since the improvement over the 501s wasn’t that much better. Because of the size I definitely had to change up my room to accommodate them which did make the overall system better which was nice. I only listen to lossless movies and music so the sound quality is awesome. I would probably buy them again but they definitely would have to be a lot cheaper tho because the improvements I wanted was just not their based on all the reviews I heard about them and comparing it to other upgrades that made more significant difference. Definitely a nice look a great sound on them I haven’t ran them in stereo only and that may be the issue. Shipping was awesome and seller was awesome would definitely buy from him again and as other said these are monster speakers and are a pain to move and probably not really suited for the size of my room which is smaller. But after calibration room adjustment after the purchase do to the size I’m definitely happier with the overall sound. Some smaller noises in the background of game of thrones was definitely more defined than with the 501s Read full review

I purchased the Klipsch RF-7 III because I found such a great deal on a B stock pair that were promised to be as new (just slight scuffs on the shipping cartons) with no intentions of replacing my reference speakers (will not mention make and model but I can tell you they are currently listed in the STEREOPHILE recommended components issue and cost twice as much)-TRUTH BE TOLD-they are keepers and as of this writing they are currently residing where my reference speakers previously resided with no hurry of swapping them back in! I consider myself to be an audiophile with well over thirty years in this hobby and have had numerous components and especially speakers throughout the years. Throughout this time I have never considered getting a pair of KLIPSCH as I am not enamored with the sound of HORN LOADED SPEAKERS, but for some reason this particular model has had me rethink my opinions on this brand and method of HORN LOADING-with proper placement-even out the box they are very musical and only improves upon it's sound as braking in (especially the HORN TWEETER) is taking place with time, very DYNAMIC with a sense of LIVE! I can go on and on but all this to say that after sooooooooooooooooo many years of following reviews and the community (not to mention the SNOBBERY in this hobby) you do not need to take a second mortgage on your house to obtain reference sound-save your money and with the savings GO AND BUY MORE MUSIC!Read full review

Building and Reproducing Movie Sound stages is my goal. Enjoying a relaxing evening or mid-day concert is a bonus. Having the RF 7ii's under my control is a necessity. The broad and full spectrum of these speakers are are phenomenal yet they still have enough discreet dynamic range to compliment even the must discerning audiophile ear. I've run a the typical 2.1, 3.1, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 as my test bed over the years but My Personal setup once testing is complete is normally 7.2, 9.3 or 11.3 depending on the movie and entertaining environment. The 7ii have performed flawlessly thus far. Currently paired against 2x RF-62s as rear surround, 2x RS-42ii as rear back channel, and a 6x compliment of Yamahas as hold-over until I finish testing the Dolby Atmos functionality, powered by a RX-Z11. Overall great purchase, expensive purchase but a lasting purchase. Pros: Heavy, Solid, Beautifully Crafted backed by Klipsch. Handles Movies, Music, and so far as much power as I can throw at it. Great with or without the Grill Cons: Heavy, PowerfulRead full review
