Ah, the colecovision. It and it's closely related brother Intellivision, were two consoles who tried to take down Atari's reign over video games in the early 80s. Sadly, due to Atari's overwhelming control of the market, competitors failed to pull the numbers to effectively compete and thus, games for our trusty colecovision are slightly harder to come by then Atari games. As a collectors item, this semi-scarcity is great. Espectially in today's recent time when retro games are highly sought by collectors. A colecovision with a good library of games should be in every serious gamer's collection. However, collector's value will only get this game so far. What otherwise would be a quite fun game to play is ruined by one crucial element; the controller. The colecovision controller is HORRIBLY design as far as ergonomics is concerned. So much that your hand can cramp up after as little as 5-10 minutes of gaming. This makes even simple games on this console are unnecessarily hard and frustrating. So in short, Colecovision games including Popeye, our favorite sailor who is out to rescue his girl Olive, are indeed fun to collect and are great for short bursts of play time. But poorly designed controls mean that you should seek out a more comfortable console to play your retro games on. Because of the carpel tunnel inducing controls, I regrettably can't recommend this to anyone who actually wants to enjoy playing it. It is merely a collector's piece nowadays.Read full review
