The fate of Dr. Gavin's futuristic zoo and its beloved mascot Whoopie the Walrus is up to you in “Rocket: Robot on Wheels” for Nintendo 64. “Rocket: Robot on Wheels” was released in 1999 in both Europe and America with rave reviews in both places. The game was developed by Sucker Punch and is one of the first games for the N64 platform version to use a realistic physics engine. The player must solve puzzles that deal with inertia, mass, and gravity. In this 3-D platform game for Nintendo 64, players assume the role of Rocket, Dr. Gavin's one-wheeled personal robot. Dr. Gavin is the designer and owner of Whoopie World, which is a zoo and theme park set in the future. When the doctor goes to a celebratory party before Opening Day, he leaves Rocket in charge of the animals. Whoopie the Walrus and his raccoon sidekick Jojo are also left in Rocket's care. When Dr. Gavin leaves, you see the devious raccoon creating plans to ruin Opening Day and create Jojo World in its place. Suddenly, you are knocked out with a mallet, and the Walrus mascot is kidnapped and teleported to the park. The mechanic at the park, named Tinker, tells you that you must find the tickets and tokens that were stolen. It’s here that you enter Clowny Island. Rocket must rescue the beloved mascot from the clutches of the raccoon villain and stop the villain from destroying the zoo before Opening Day. To do this, you must explore six different worlds and repair broken machines, drive park vehicles, and uncover secrets along the way. Use logic to solve puzzles and locate the tickets and tokens that your nemesis has scattered. It is a race against time as you scoot, jump, swing, and smash your way through each world in the quest to catch up to the rambunctious raccoon. Your robot even possesses a tractor beam that can pick up nearly anything. Each level of “Robot on Wheels” has a distinctive theme and is connected to the main amusement park. To get to the next level, you must find a preset number of tickets in the previous level. Learn new techniques, strategies, and moves from Tinker and earn tokens throughout the world as a reward in this game. Each level has a unique vehicle, which you use for solving puzzles and getting the tickets. Collect the right amount of tickets through the park and gain entry to the final level. To win the game, enter Jojo World and take on the final boss himself. “Robot on Wheels” for the Nintendo 64 was a very popular game when it was originally released.
