Jessica
Simpson
This spring, the white
suit will brighten boardrooms and capture the lenses of the
paparazzi. Fashion trendsetters Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba
both wore Dolce & Gabbana white tuxes to the Golden Globes and
the Emmy’s several seasons ago. Meanwhile, Gwyneth, Mandy
Moore, Renee Zellweger and Nicole Kidman have looked radiant in
their gleaming white suits on the red carpet. Whether it’s
Donna Karan or Donatella Versace, Hollywood is recruiting this look
as its new uniform. Throw in a Hérmes or Pucci scarf for
color or a Fendi bag to help transform the suit from day to night.
Marisa Tomei
The satin
skirt has slid into daytime dressing this year, spotted on celebrities
like Marisa Tomei, Natalie Portman and Sandra Bullock. For spring,
satin is a new option for office attire and a softer, more comfortable
choice for luncheons. Try mixing with denim or suede for an update
on the look, or add a cashmere sweater or sexy camisoles to make
it demure or dynamic. With ballerina Marc Jacobs shoes, sexy Manolo
Blahniks or pastel suede Jimmy Choos, this is definitely one of
spring’s fashion do’s.
Jennifer Lopez
April showers bring May flowers, but you won’t skip a step
this spring in your new and improved trench
coat. This ‘classic film goddess’ look has been
spotted on Matahari, Marilyn, Kate Hepburn, Cate Blanchett, Jackie
O and J.Lo. Mini-skirt length or to the knee, double-breasted or
single, this is the look to keep you covered. Burberry or Byblos,
Oscar de la Renta or Dolce and Gabbana, Dior or Michael Kors, all
these designers have furnished the stores with trench coats to fit
every shape and size.
Kelly Rowland
Transformed from the 1960’s, the mini is fashion’s short
cut for spring. The trend began with the Calvin Klein mini
dress Sara Jessica Parker wore to the Oscars a few seasons’
ago. This year fashion critics raved about Kelly Rowland’s
Cavalli dress and Foxy Brown’s Dior mini dresses at the Grammy’s.
As the sexy, short skirts sail down runways this spring, mini dresses
double as tunic tops for Karl Lagerfeld and Catherine Malandrino.
To vary the look a little, try flip-flop sandals from Tod’s,
or dance hall stilettos at Sigerson Morrison. |
