    Good for what it is

    The Amazon Fire HD 10" is an overall good tablet. The main use of it is for watching movies, surfing the web, and reading books. Since the quality of the screen is not 1080P or 1920 X 1080 resolution, the image on the screen will not be as sharp when watching movies. If you go from watching 1080p to 720p, you might notice the slight difference but if your use to 720P resolution you will not miss much. Since the Fire HD does not run Android OS, it will be limited to many applications that run on Android and apple IOS. Fire OS still has much to offer in terms of application, but you will have to do research to see if your favorites apps run on Fire OS. If you like reading books on Kindle, then this device will be an excellent tablet because of its wide screen. Flipping it on its vertical side can give you lots of reading room. Surfing the web is also another of its strong points. Given its price range, you won't get the best graphics but will grant you a good overall table to multimedia use. It's a good introductory tablet.

    Big little screen

    The windows laptop is not the ultimate computing machine. It can do many things right, and enough other things well to make sure that it should be in the inventory of everyone that is connected these days, but considering the length of time it takes to do anything, - it is not lightweight. Enter the tablets. Droid is a godsend for those who want to stay connected without carrying around a laptop (or, god forbid, a full PC.) Then along comes the Kindle brand from Amazon. Small, lightweight, markedly restricted in what it does, it fits the niche and works good enough for 70 - 80 % of my computing needs. The 10" screen means I can use it without my reading glasses. Yeah, for about $100 or so, get one. You'll learn to love it. -Russ

    A good large-screen tablet

    A good large-screen tablet. It makes reading ebooks and watching videos a pleasure. I initially ha some issues with the microSD card not remaining in place, but it has been a long time since that was any problem. Much better value for nany purposes than the large models of the iPad (make your decision if you need particular IOS apps). Occasionally ceetain Android apps are NOT Available for Kindle (the LastPass password manager, for example). There is a good range of Android and Kindle apps available, but sometimes you need a different app on the Kindle from other Android or IOS devices. Too large to fit in any but the largest jacket pickets (common to all large-size tablets). If portability is a concern, you may want to consider the less expensive Kindle Frie HD 8.

    Nice budget 10" tablet

    I like many things about the Kindle Fire HD 10" Economical Portable Very nice display Expandable +256gb Easy to use if you're willing to live in the Amazon ecosystem Some things that could be better Battery life I get about a day's (8 hours) use before needing a recharge longer would be better I'd prefer a pure Android OS to Amazon's purposely limited OS simply for Amazon's ecosystem is somewhat limited I am an Amazon customer so buying into Amazon's ecosystem wasn't too much of an issue for me. All in all I'm pleased with my purchase and plan to keep the tablet.

    Lightweight with great features

    My Fire HD 10 is a great bargain for everything it offers. The size is perfect and it's lightweight making it easy to hold for an extended time while watching movies, playing games or reading your favorite novel. The screen is clear and crisp and the sound is easy to listen to. It can hold many books, games and novels without any problem. Kindle Cloud is available which I use to store my contents. I highly recommend this tablet because I don't think it can be beat for the price.

    Excellent tablets

    It has long battery life and I really love Amazon Underground, which allows me to download tons of paid games free, yes you heard it right FREE including the in-app purchase!!! Comparing the screen quality, it not upto par with my iPad, but it's just excellent for this price range I got from ebay under $200. Above all, I love it.

    Awesome streaming tablet.

    With just a few files the play store can be put on this tablet. With those apps and the Amazon eco system for prime videos and music there is always entertainment to be enjoyed. Highly recommend the white color as it gives it a unique and clean appearance.
