When purchasing an ungraded trading card that is also eligible for Authenticity Guarantee, you’ll have the option to purchase grading services directly from PSA. After selecting add Grading by PSA at checkout and completing your purchase, your trading card will be shipped to PSA for grading. Once received, PSA will then assess the quality and condition of your trading card using PSA’s 10-point grading scale - opens in new window or tab.
If you don’t yet have a PSA account, PSA will create a new account for you using the email and phone number from your purchase. You’ll need to reference any further communication from PSA to complete your account setup. If you've already setup a PSA account with the same email on your eBay account, PSA will link your grading service order to your existing PSA account.

Viewing updates during the grading process
During the grading process, you can login to your PSA account to view additional information such as the grading order and detailed statuses of the grading process. Once PSA’s grading is complete, you’ll receive an update from PSA and a tracking number.
On eBay’s View order details page you’ll also be able to view the following grading and authentication process updates:
- Pre-shipment
- Item has shipped
- Arrived at facility
- Authentication updates
- Card is authentic and being sent for grading
- Card is customized (contains aftermarket autograph/patch/relic) and being sent for grading
- Item failed authentication
- Item is miscategorized
- Grading updates
- Grading has started
- Grading is completed
- Card is shipped (+ tracking number)
- Tracking updates
- Card is delivered

Prerequisites for using Grading by PSA
Grading by PSA is currently only available for buyers purchasing on eBay.com that meet the following criteria:
- Primary address in the US
- US shipping address (no P.O. boxes)
For sellers, Grading by PSA is only available for eligible ungraded non-autographed trading cards listed above $250 in single quantity. Your trading card must be listed individually in the following eligible categories:
- Collectible Card Games
- Non-Sport Trading Cards
- Sports Trading Cards
