      A wonderful way to connect your laptop to multiple monitors and other peripherals

      This is just great! I've been using a ThinkPad MiniDock Plus Series 3 docking station for years with my ThinkPad W520, and suddenly it stopped charging my laptop. It would still connect, and peripherals still worked, but it wouldn't carry current to the laptop so the battery would drain. This replacement fixed that perfectly, and was very reasonably priced. Note that my laptop takes more than 90W to run it, but since I already had the 170W power adapter from my malfunctioning docking station, I was able to use that with this docking station and it works perfectly since it had the same voltage/amps and the same power connector. This saved me even more money because I didn't need the adapter that came with it, just the docking station, and the 170W power adapters are more expensive.

      Great docking station

      I got this dock for my W530. I'd been using an aftermarket dock that didn't survive a Win 10 update because of a video driver and was happy to see the prices on these finally in the "easy choice" range. I don't take my W530 on the road much so it generally stays in the dock and I expect this one will last as long as the laptop. Pros: - All the ports I need for USB, video, and of course power. - At around $50 delivered, this is a bargain. - Key included to lock the laptop into the dock. Cons: - Only one USB3 (blue) port, so extra USB3 external drives still need to plug directly into the laptop or run at a slower speed. Will be looking at hubs. - The seating on the bottom connector isn't ideal, it took me a few tries and is prone to being knocked loose. This was a no-brainer on a ...

      Could be better.

      The microphone and headphone ports are in a terrible location. The audio quality from the headphone port is bad. I can hear crackling noise from my hard drive through my speakers whenever it is being used by the operating system. The placement of the release button and power button are in a poorly placed area. It literally blocks air flow from my laptop exhaust vents. My laptops fan goes into high speed more often now.

      Product working as described, no issues whatsoever and it looks like is new, no scratches or marks.

      One problem though, but I think the problem is from my laptop, not with the docking station. If I undock with the laptop open, I get a bluescreen. I may be a driver problem, but otherwise is working perfect. Laptop W530.

      High quality product

      I've become a fan of ThinkPads after discovering their solid and quality build. This dock system follows that quality. Super easy to align the laptop and snap into place, a serious locking system, all the ports that one could ever use, and of course the insanely capable 170w power supply that puts all others to shame.
