    this film has been on tv but I missed most of it and it has not been on again (it's probably on bbciplayer or itvx) but having looked on ebay and very good price I thought I would buy it so I can watch at my leisure

    A dark and sinister tale of rivalry, with many twist and turns of plotting. The character-development is good, and the scenes are rich in historical detail and "atmosphere". Slightly opaque ending. Worth watching.
