I have used them as an inner layer and also an outer layer when it gets warm enough. Medium is my normal size and almost always fits but these in medium are larger than the normal so I got a small and it fits perfectly. The shipper's tracking information was not very clear as to the progress of the shipment and not updated very often which needs improvement.
