Join Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius as he and his trusty robot-dog companion Goddard side-scroll their way through a quest to fix their spaceship and travel to planet Yolkus, to rescue all the parents who were kidnapped from Retroville by King Goobot. The game, based on the Paramount and Nickelodeon film of the same name, puts you in control of both the boy genius and his dog at various stages as they meet mission objectives, earn points, collect items, and utilize gadgets like shrink rays, goo darts, purple flurp, neutrons, and more.<br><br>Single player mode offers a tutorial for each character, easy, medium, and hard skill settings, and a mission objective briefing prior to each level. As you advance, the number of health-continues, points earned, and percentage of items collected for each level are shown onscreen, along with meters depicting your Shrink Ray power level and Jet Pack fuel consumption. If the health meter is depleted, you'll lose one continue and begin over, but if you lose all your continues, you must begin the level again with the loss of all items collected. At the end of each completed level (100 percent collection of items is not required), a 12-digit password is provided for entering future sessions at that point in the game.<br><br>Up to four players can compete head-to-head in two separate modes via link cables. In the multiplayer platform game, options include the choice of the game world (Earth, Yokian Moon, or Yokian Planet) and its size (tiny, small, medium, or large). The object is to collect more coins than your opponents as you fly, jump, and run around each level, using gadgets to slow down other players and divest them of their coins. As in single-player mode, a map, health meter, fuel and gadget gauges, and a coin (point) counter are displayed. Multiplayer race mode features health, speed, and gadget overload meters as you compete in short, medium, or long spaceship races. Power-ups include speed bursts, booby traps, projectiles, and a Turbo Ring.
