    The hoverboard arrived in its original packaging as promised, but I decided to disassemble it to make sure the battery was safe. I found that not only did the battery not charge, but also if I left it on the charger, it would've probably caught fire. Thankfully I have a spare battery but I had assumed the battery had already been replaced and this was not specified.
