I bought two because I pair them up like sissors for salads in a 9" pie plate. I would say they are best sized for female hands. I am a guy though, and would have preferred another three quarters to one inch longer handle. This extra length would also match-up better with my Wusthof 4000 series knives in Wusthof wooden blocks. I like these better than the 4182 Wusthof, so far
