    It does locate the general direction of the broadcast tower. However, even using the gain function, the signal strength lights did not give me the best direction to maximize signal strength for long distance transmissions with obstructions. I should have bought a more expensive device with a more sensitive meter. The included battery was a dud. Glad I tested the unit before I went up on the roof.

    As described. battery was down to 5 volts from 9, so it did not function until I installed a new 9 volt battery. The battery was wrapped in cello and did not leak, so all is well. It just sat on the shelf a while, not the fault of the seller or maker.

    I'm marking my words; this OTA Antenna Signal Strength Meter works! works!

    I thought out TV antenna was zeroed in the 40 mile away broadcast towers as shown in the maps of the towers, but Dropouts plagued certain weak stations. Out of curiosity & (despair), I purchased the device, wondering whether the device would work as advertised. Sure enough, the device worked finding a 30 degree error from where the antenna needed to be aligned.
