It hosts two USB 2.0 ports with all-in-1 printer server and FTP file sharing amongst your LAN or from an external location. This hub also supports guest-SSID network with a separate password for easy visitor access. For security, the RT-N16 currently supports WPA2 Personal as well as all previous implementations for password security.The RT-N16 sports a powerful CPU that provides high-performance throughput of up to 300Mbps. Additionally with 5 Gigabit ports (1x WAN and 4x LAN) this device is capable of supporting many accessories. Wireless frequency is a single-channel 2.4 Ghz, as well as a dual USB port for printer and external hard drive support. WPS is also supported through the online configuration or button interface. For power, the device uses an included standard AC adapter.Settings are easily changed with the web GUI built into it. Both static and dynamic IP address functionality can be used. Individual devices can be assigned IP addresses for ease of use. Additionally, parental control can be instated, and firewall and VPN settings can all be changed from your computer. The RT-N16 can also be configured for use as a stand-alone wireless router. It can also be configured in bridge mode or as a wireless extender for existing applications. The router comes with preloaded ASUS firmware with a graphical map available from your browser for ease of access. Downloads are ultra-fast with the included download master software, as well as easy setup with the included web interface. The attached guide makes it easy for anyone to setup the router with an included ASUS wizard to guide the process.With the included AiCloud software built in, files can be accessed by either passcode or open support throughout the wireless range. The router serves as its media server. This will allow anyone on your frequency to access audio and video files. With the speed of a professional hot spot router in a compact form, this hub can revolutionize the way your home network performs.For the more technically savvy, the router also supports other open-source firmware such as DD-WRT or Tomato. Check with guides available on each respective project and follow the steps to flash a third-party interface. For those wanting to stay with the included firmware, ASUS simplifies the upgrade process by providing downloads available online. The online website makes the search and change of the routers default firmware version easy.     Can You here me now?

    No dead zones anywhere... upstairs downstairs.. I don’t care... full signal..Kids are ecstatic. They can stat in their rooms 24 Hrs... Just kidding... With my Netgear N we constantly had low signal even 10ft directly above the router. Downstairs worked pretty good. This AC1200 from Wavlink provides my family with the WIFI that they always wanted.. Five cell phones and three smart TV’s.. coupled with PS4... all work smooth and uninterrupted. The kids can now move around the house and not stay in the “good” spots.. cause its all good now...Installation was fairly easy.. I could see some customers having trouble. Wavlink could expand its customer base just by providing a manual thats not in microprint🤐. .. and something as simple as the manuals instruction to install the latest firmware... ...

    Router

    I don’t know why they want these reviews because part of testing is durability, very important, this takes a few years at least. The immediate response on this unit is that it works, the price is low of course it’s Chinese made, power output is low, if you have a small size apartment it’s probably ok, bigger house or if you would like it to reach outside forget it. To me the next biggest thing is years of service. So check back.

    The RT-N16 is among the highest values available for an "N" standard router. Once the known capacitor issue is handled, you will get years of service.

    This is an EXCELLENT router once the well-known capacitor failure issue is handled. The vast majority of these devices that are sold 'as-is' or even 'non-functional' are having this same predictable, and easily repaired failure. The RT-N16 is highly compatible with a variety of 3rd party software, in addition to the carrying the excellent stock firmware, ASUSWRT. This is perhaps the single best value available in an "N" standard router today.
