    An easy gear change for easier climbing.

    I bought a set of wheels, but it came with very small sprockets. I live a a hilly place, and need more low end gearing for climbing. This cassette did the trick, and I am happy ridding up and down my local roads. I'm also very fond of modern rear hubs and make changing gears a quick and simply job. If you find yourself struggling to get up your local hills, then some large sprockets in the back and a smaller chain ring in the front will have the cresting the hills with ease. Have a nice summer.

    A smart cassette at a reasonable price

    Good value, sound construction, and weight is decent enough - you could pay a much larger chunk of change for NOS 9-speed Ultegra or XT or SRAM's 970/980/990 cassettes and save a few ounces, but at this price point it's better than okay. Shifting is of course clean as ever. Where this cassette really shines, though, is a very smart progression, free of large jumps (18-21 and 24-28 are the largest at 16.6%), and very close at the top end - it just hits that goldilocks point of a slightly steeper than geometric progression. This, when coupled with a wide enough range and compatibility with the medium-cage derailleur I had on hand, made it ideal for my budget-friendly gravel conversion.

    Should have done it years ago!

    Went from a 12-26 cassette to an 11- 28. Two more teeth on the granny gear makes climbing easier for these old knees. Shimano high quality as usual, love it.

    Tighter than stock gears

    Used this to replace a 11-36 cassette on a Trek FX2. This cassette gets rid of the unnecessary low gears and brings all gears closer together. Not a top end item but good quality that makes holding speed much easier.
