W3250 Quad core or Intel Xeon W3680 3.33GHz 6 Core?

But for a mere $75 well worth the price I would buy it again. It pushes every game produced in 2017 that calls for i5 or i7. My video card is maxed at 100% upgrading (waiting for it now). But my son has the W3250 with the upgraded video card and it is pushing easily every game from 2017 so far that calls for an I7. Excellent for gaming. This cpu is plenty powerful my PC is Bottlenecking at a 10000RPM 600mb a second Hard drive so upgrading to a ssd I bought it to replace my Xeon W3250 I have no idea how this works on a server... but for gaming no need for 6 cores. I love the Xeon don't get me wrong but for gaming 6 cores means nothing. I haven't figured out how to utilize 6 cores on a regular desktop. I bet it works excellent on a server, I love this chip. I will let you know more when my ...

    • Finally my main computer is usable having enough CPU cycles to run Windows

Pros - was not defective and worked. Increased from dual core to 6 cores and made a world of difference in response times. Cons - none.

    • Amazing cheap for a 6 core CPU. Top of the line form 5 years ago.

Passmark scores 8500. Really good deal for 80 bucks!

    • Works with Mac Pro 2012, VMware fusion performance excellent

Works well in 2012 Mac Pro. Much improvement in performance. VMware fusion now works since I am using 6 core processor and performance with NVME is top notch. I have a Mac Pro 5,1 (2012) Samsung nvme ssd 16GB ram ati 560.

    • great processor for $80

Bought one of these for an old system for $80 it's a big boost from the dual core 2.5 Xeon I had in there before. It makes multithreaded code run way faster and it's a big boost. combined with a PCI-E SSD and a new graphics card my old HP Z400 runs faster than most new desktops and I'm very happy.
