Synopsis
The author, an editor of Campaigns Magazine for ten years, has written a groundbreaking new study of Napoleon's disasterous Russian campaign of 1812. In doing this, he has employed primary sources never before translated from the German and Russian. He points out the real reasons for Napoleon's defeat which had nothing to do with cold weather but rather were a complex combination of faulty logistics, bureaucratic mismanagement and Napoleon's own but uncharacteristic indecision and bad choices.

This item arrived in excellent condition in a sturdy cardboard box. It was securely wrapped in bubble wrap and covered with styrofoam peanuts. I’m always impressed when a book is shipped with extra care. The shipping speed was very fast and the item was as described on the website. For a book published in 1981 and being in quite good condition, I think this purchase was a decent value overall. I am pleased with my purchase and would definitely buy from this seller again. Thank you!!

Great Seller. Accurate description and packing was superb. The book arrived with no issue whatsoever, even though the delivery driver threw the package out the window onto the ground!

  • not a book with research or evidence as to the statements aside from the facts.

This author does not back up loose statements with references. He criticizes other previous authors without stating why. Instead of just sticking to the facts this author throws in statements that are counter to those who were there etc. There are only a few notes and a few references.
