Teeny pedal, great tone
When I ordered it, I knew it was small, just did not think it was this small! This looks like it would be right at home on Barbie's pedal board (if she played! LOL). You can see how small it is from the picture. It is a great sounding, analog style delay with a modulation setting. I've tried it both in the front of the amp and in the effects loop, sound great either way. Does not color the tone of the guitar (like the one it replaced did) and the subtle modulation effect is great, very, very subtle, just as I like it. It adds just a little fullness to the notes. No dramatic 2 second delay time, just a solid 600 ms or so. It does have one quirk, the indicator light is always on, it just gets noticeably brighter when the pedal is activated. Picture 1 is the pedal with no power, picture 2 is ... When I ordered it, I knew it was small, just did not think it was this small! Smaller than one can believe
The Rowin Echo pedal sounds like a typical analog delay pedal with a touch more clarity than the norm. The first thing one notices is the size. This thing is really small (2.75" x 1.25") and somewhat endearing when it is put next to a mini-pedal and is about 1/2 the size yet sounds fine. I have used it 2 times now on gigs and plenty at home so here are my thoughts. When on, the pedal seems to give a very small boost which is not noticeable unless you are home recording a solo jazz passage but there is a small boost. The controls are somewhat scratchy even after several attempts to clean them. This does not affect performance unless you are constantly changing your controls. Lastly, while the tone is very good, I personally like a very lite 1-2 tap delay short to just thicken my tone ... Does the job better than the built-in delay on an expensive multi-effects unit
I originally bought this to replace the delay feature of my BOSS ME-50. The ME-50 is a very nice multi-effect pedal, but the only thing I don't like about it is the way it does delay, at least the way I want delay to sound. I quickly discovered this pedal is an affordable way to get the sound I couldn't get on the ME-50. Funny thing is, out of curiosity, I later bought a power supply to resurrect my old DigiTech RP200A, and the delay on that multi-effect pedal is as good as on the ammon. But the power supply alone was much more expensive than this pedal, led alone what the RP200A cost (I forget what I paid for it)! Moral of the story: If you already have the other effects you want but want to add delay, this is an unbeatable choice for this price. Affordable,compact and good quality!
This pedal is seamless. Smooth,creamy delay that makes my sound bigger. The price was So budget friendly. You do have to be careful with the size as it really is small! No place for a battery,but who uses batteries!?
