- r***j (11)- Feedback left by buyer.More than a year agoVerified purchaseInstead of paying $800 to my local VW dealer for parts alone + $1320 in labor, I used this for my 2017 GTI. To use this, transfer the white ignition switch/connector and the other connectors from your broken unit, onto this new unit. As stated by the seller, the chips inside the new keys and lock cylinder (black part) must be reprogrammed to start the car. *To start the car without reprogramming* leave the original key in the original lock cylinder and connect that to the wire from the car.
