Well built, reasonable priced, fast shipping. Used this paired up with a dim bulb tester to slowly start up a long storage Pioneer SX-1980. Worked perfectly šŸ‘Œ. Started off at 60 volts and moved up 20 volts about every 2 hours,up to 110 volts. Good for slowly warming up electronics.

Great heavy duty design. 110v marking on dial and meter in the US is actually 120v. Otherwise great .

I’m using this to slow down the fan speed on a 2 speed window evaporator cooler that makes too much noise even on low speed in my bedroom. Does what I want. Happy wife happy Life.

Resurrected a 'mothballed' amplifier and saved money!

No cons. It has worked on one job so far - gradually raising the input voltage on an amplifier, which had been dormant for a long while, in order to stop the input voltage circuits from being burned up. When I had initially tried to power up the amp, I blew the fuse. So I read around and found an indication of the problem, and the above procedure suggested for solving it. The procedure was successful. I have a number of other pieces of equiplment that I will treat similarly. I'm sure I have saved money already in avoiding taking the amplifier to a repair shop. About $60 total as opposed to probably $150 per hour for a technician. With two outputs and a total load capacity of 20A, this transformer will be very useful to me in many ways.

  • Good but!

Neither the dial nor the meter are very accurate, but that is ok for me. The dial is a little is a little ruff when turning. Would a little dialectic lube maybe help?

  • A rather nice "Variac" for the price

A rather nice "Variac" for the price. Very useful for bringing up line voltage on old equipment that has been sitting idle for years or decades. Classic General Radio and "Variacs" are nice, but hard to find. These do the job! And available in up to 3 KVA versions.

  • fun

These things are useful to have around for any electronics hacking. Need high voltage? Hook this up to a microwave transformer and build a rectumfryer if ya need DC; Easy.

  • Clean sine wave, good capacity.

Good price. Works well as described. I was able to convert the unit to an AC-DC variable supply with additional parts mounted in the front junction box.
