      Great batteries! Possible bad review explanation.

      First off, I have 3 of these batteries. They're great and they do everything they're supposed to do. Next, I'd like to address the 2 complaints I see most often in reviews of these batteries. #1: “they feel too light so they must not be as good as the originals.” They're Lithium-ion for God's sake. That's been the attraction of Lithium batteries ever since their inception, less weight and more power. And mine are both. #2: “lack of power.” Even though these are great Ni-Cad replacements and will fit your DeWalt 18 volt charger, you should not use a Ni-Cad only charger. I'm suspecting that's why there are so many complaints about the lack of power. You should use an actual DeWalt DC9310 that's designed for both Ni-Cad and Li-ion batteries. And do not buy one of the multitude of cheap ...

      Comes on strong but dies in the end.

      The batteries have good power for light work but when put under any kind of heavy load they overheat right away and stop working. You can't even get a 2 inch screw all the way through a piece of wood before it dies out. Max working time under load is 15 minutes tops.

      Why pay Dewalt's high price for replacement batteries.

      Always leary of Chinese built products, but these have an excellent warrantee and seem to perform as good as the OEM.

      light duty use only

      works ok when driving deck screws. when used on a recip saw cutting through 3" lumber 2 of them went into overheat shut down in less than 3 minutes. one will now no longer take a charge. all of this on the first day of use after a full charge on the correct charger. finished the cut on a single old style battery. the battery pack is much lighter than the original style. maybe they should put in more cells to increase the discharge rate (HINT)

      Dewalt compatible batteries.

      The minute I picked up an OEM Dewalt battery I could feel the weight difference and sure enough It does not have the tun time of the original. Other than that It seems to work fine.
