The headphones must be wired (choke hazard) no wireless functionality. If you have 2 units in your family the EXPENSIVE characters will only work on one assigned unit at a time (it deletes usage on the other box). Lots of room for improvement! With that information I can’t recommend for shared family use! Big costly disappointment for us. Not little kid and family economically friendly!
