    Good upgrade

    This is a decent upgrade for an older machine. The only caveat is that it doesn't like a non-stock cpu fan as it results in a boot up error. It is bypassable since the fan runs fine, but there is no way to disable this error in the bios.

    Generally a good MB but a few glitches

    I bought this MB to replace my aging P4, XP based audio / video editing computer. I have had very good luck with Dells and absolutely LOVE my Inspiron 560. So, I was looking forward to a long & trouble-free love affair with the 580. I bought the fastest i5 quad core processor that would fit in the LGA1156 socket, filled it up with 8GB ram, added a 500GB "C" drive and a 750GB "E" drive, and installed Windows 7 Home Premium. I went to the Dell website and let Dell install all the appropriate drivers and then Windows installed over 200 updates. Even though I am running the 64-bit version of Windows, the computer will only recognize 4GB of ram. If I remove one stick, it will recognize 6GB, but not 8GB. Haven't got this one figured out yet.     Nice System Board

    Completed the build with on-hand parts and had the system running in a very short time. For the price, I now have a nice PC to give to a needy student. Only issue I had was the back plane did not come with the board, but the vendor gave a partial refund to compensate me. All-in-all, Im happy with the board.
