It does what it's supposed to.

I give this a 5 star rating because the product works well and is one of the most cost effective epoxy primers available on the market. That said, however, the outrageous shipping fees that I had to pay (plus tax) to get it ran the cost up another $60 or so! That initially sent me looking for something else. I could find nothing. Or at least nothing I could trust. So..I bought it. I've been using this and other Kirker primers and paints for years now at a professional level for classic car restoration and have always had good results. I use this particular primer (usually in grey) as both a first coat primer and as a reduced sealer. It does take longer to dry so keep that in mind.

Watch out if your going over old finish.

Wet sanded on 70 Cougar prep for restoration. Primed over old paint after prep on trunk. First time had no problems. Waited 3 days wet sanded and mixed it up again. Applied 2 coats letting each flash off. Looked ok when done. Walked in 10min later. Lifted old paint all over and made a ton of extra work for me. Will never use it again over any existing finish. Sometimes its ok. Other times its not. Not taking the chance again. Will stick with my Speedcote. Should have known better than try new product. Too strong for exiting finishes. The edges will lift.

  • looks good but extra work requried

Needed to stir it up a lot more than I ever would have imagined would have been necessary. Had to stir it for about 20 mins due to some pretty hard chunks at the bottom but once that was done it was fine and it went on smooth. End result was nice looking.

  • Good epoxy for the price.

Very Good epoxy for the price. It does take a couple of weeks to thoroughly set up hard enough to sand without gumming up the sandpaper. Using as a sealer spray a light coat and paint over the next day.
