It contains three memory channels running at a clock speed of 1066 MHz and a maximum bandwidth of 25.6 GB/sec. It also has an 8MB L2 cache to run multiple processor-heavy programs simultaneously. The cache is a small memory pool that can store important data on the CPU. Thanks to Intel's Smart Cache technology, this device allows all four cores to dynamically share access to this pool, reducing latency and improving bandwidth.The i7 family of processors has been designed from the ground up to take advantage of the most powerful desktop computers. In place of the old front-side bus design, Intel has created a new architecture called Quick Path Interconnect. QPI architecture creates multiple pairs of high-speed, point-to-point links both inside and outside of the microprocessor, so you get faster data transfer between the CPU and the integrated memory controller. The bus speed operates at 6.4 GT/s. Furthermore, Intel's cutting-edge hyper-threading technology makes the most efficient use of the processor's resources. Enhanced Intel SpeedStep allows the computer to dynamically adjust the processor's voltage and frequency to optimize the performance of the system. Intel Wide Dynamic Execution delivers more instructions per clock cycle, improving the speed and efficiency of the CPU. Intel HD Boost dramatically improves the rate of high-definition video editing and encoding, so it encodes videos up to 79% faster. With Execute Disable Bit, it also prevents the proliferation of harmful software on your computer or network. In addition, the processor will automatically save power when it's idle. The processor has a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 130w. That is the average power that the microprocessor dissipates when it's operating at its base frequency.
