    meh... nice to have, but not a must have - works well - affordable - has limitations compared to a keyboard style controller

    it works ok. i use it for some virtual synths [mostly beats, cueing up sequenced tracks, and rudimentary bass synths]. otherwise i prefer to mostly use my akai apc-40, and novation impulse 25. that said, it does add a few more functional, assingable channels and controls for a very affordable price. depending on how you're using the unit [live or studio] it can help to add masking tape labels for quick reference.

    Great MIDI I/O to a Virtual Pipe Organ

    As a Hauptwerk I/O device, it's the only thing to use prior to HW 5. I can't say much for its durability since this is the third one I've owned in the last five years. The others developed some malfunction. Maybe this one will be different. It looks good and is a perfect alternative to a touch screen. Easy to interface. Provides eighty midi inputs to Hauptwerk. Currently Hauptwerk supports the later model but I haven't tried it out yet.
