Wow ... really nice packing job of delicate tubes and heavy transformers. Nice materials. This is a true DIY kit so I will really enjoy building it ... there is a really helpful book form the "From Scratch" series on Amazon that will lend a nice perspective. (Not directly associated)

At this price point, it's a great deal, but make sure you're up to the project...
I bought this kit as an entry into the world of DIY tube audio gear and it was totally worth the investment of time and money. It took me a couple weeks of planning and slow, steady work to complete it and it sounds REALLY good for the price point. It's _almost_ dead silent and provides more than enough power to drive small bookshelf speakers (Klipsch) to deafening volume. BUT... Caveat Emptor: - This is a kit, which you have to assemble yourself - The only instructions that come with it is a single piece of paper with the schematics - in Chinese - be sure that you understand the basics of reading schematics and have at least rudimentary skill with a soldering iron - Because of the lack of build / construction documentation, you'll likely want to search the internet for helps - The amp ... These were very helpful. I'm not sure that I could have assembled it without these aids. The amazing this was that the very first time I powered it up and tested it, it worked flawlessly. No hum. No smoke. No weird noises. Just sweet music! Oh... one of the web pages included some modifications including a switch from speaker output to headphone output (you have to add the headphone jack yourself) and a switch from triode mode to ultralinear for those that like to experiment. All in all, it was a good experience that definitely bolstered my confidence and I can recommend this with the above qualifications. Good luck!

Great kit but it does have one glaring issue
This is a great project if you have some experience putting electronics together I will say though an issue I noticed is the transformer to power everything in the amp may actually be a little problematic. Its intended for either 110v or 220v and at those voltages it would output 230v which is below the voltage rating for all the parts so mathematically everything works out. However, in many places in the US where the outlet voltage is 120v this becomes an issue as it outputs about 250v putting it over the voltage rating of a few components and while the amp works amazingly well said components get HOT rather fast and put out a not too pleasant smell. This could probably be solved by adding a few resistors to bring the voltage down or with a step down transformer. Though i suppose if ...
