    Good for short stroke action guns

    The eye relief is 3.1 inches which makes it not a great choice for magnum calibers with a long action. I myself don’t want my eye 3 inches from a 300RUM scope , you can’t mount the scope far enough back on the gun to make it comfy. That being said it’s clear and the reticle is bright you’ll have some rim distortion but for the price it’s a good buy for a little hunting rifle. Mounted to my 223wssm it’s great.

    Its just ok

    The good: Holds zero well, Light weight, and a great lifetime warranty... Cons: Blurry at close ranges, especially if your caught at high power. A bit hazy at 12x compared to others ive used. Crosshairs could be a little finer. Eye relife at 12x is a challenge at times, All in all it does the job...

    Solid scope

    I have purchased Vortex scopes since 2008. The Diamondback is a very solid mid range option. I actually like the Crossfire II better (price & eye relief) but I need to save weight for an ultralight build. The Diamondback is about 2 oz lighter for same magnification. The bolt action build including rings & scope came in at 6.6 lbs. Glass is very clear and click are audible. Repeatable zero. Very hard to beat for under $200.
