    Beautiful subtle scent!

    This is the most beautiful scent that you could ask for. It smells like you would imagine the wind would smell like. The name translates to 'after the rain', but really it's even more subtle than that. There is only a hint of sweetness, the cypress really rounds it out. I get compliments on it all of the time. It is very, very office friendly. People have remarked that I have a certain scent that they like. It's definitely this perfume. I have worn it for years and is my 'go to' when I can't think of what will work on a given day.

    20 top perfumes of all time

    Apres L'Ondee is reportedly one of the 20 best perfumes of all time according to the only book I am aware of that ranks many, many perfumes in one volume. Also the book is not on the sales team of any perfume house. This fragrance was originated in 1906 by Guerlain. Guerlain has a long history of amazing fragrances. The smell of this is described as "heavenly heliotrope." I have heliotrope growing in my garden right behind the chair I am sitting in. It isn't exactly like heliotrope, in that it combines other scents as well. It is a floral that is not too sweet that is described as being combined with lilies. It doesn't smell like lilies either. But this is a scent you could wear every day, if you prefer light fragrances that don't precede you into a room or linger for too long a ...

    A new favorite

    This eau de toilette is very light and I have to spray it several times during the day to refresh the scent. While many of the Guerlain fragrances are quite strong, this fragrance is subtle and feminine without being overly flowery. I would love to have the body lotion but Guerlain has chosen to discontinue selling this fragrance in the US which is disappointing. I am very happy with the purchase and find I wear this fragrance everyday. It is my new favorite!

    Light classic fragrance

    I was not sure what to expect of a perfume that smells like violets after the rain. True to form, Guerlain produced a fragrance that is very subtle and feminine and is more reminiscent of a by-gone era when perfumes were not so overpowering. This is a fragrance that is clean and powdery with a subtle flowery scent. You would have to get close to a person to smell it but on me the fragrance stayed true all day. I am just sorry that it is no longer available in the USA as it is one I would buy again as one of my standards.
