    The right way to do business

    I purchased this board from SecondChanceIT so I could upgrade an HP z600 from the B3 version of the motherboard to the C2 version. This upgrade allows a couple of key advantages: the ability to run TWO X5675 (~3.4 GHz max) Xeon processors in the z600, and the ability to run server-grade buffered memory. Currently that memory is selling for $8 per 4GB module (shipped) NEW here on eBay. The Xeon processors are about $80 each NEW and an extra heatsink/fan is $40. So, for less than $350 I've been able to revive a 2009-vintage power workstation that will compete with many current CAD workstations in DirectX applications like Autodesk Fusion 360. The form factor and overall design of the z600 have aged very well, and I appreciate the solidly over-built engineering of the system. This upgrade ...

    Fixed my front-chassis-fan not detected problem and faster graphics than old mobo

    So, my z600 came with a working mobo. I was trying to put it on another case, succeeded but didn't like the acoustics and returned it back. During that process i connected the PSU while plugged, fried some chips, still working but doesn't detect fan and eth port kept dying after some time of operation. So, I decided to take the plunge and buy another one. Fixed it! and man graphics is faster and smoother than it used to be using the same card! Thanks a lot

    MB enables CPU and RAM updates for an old HP workstation

    This motherboard is working perfectly. Initially, it could not start with 2 CPUs installed, but after updating the BIOS that problem has disappeared. It is now able to run with 2 Xeon X5670 processors and 48 GB (6 x 8GB) of Registered ECC RAM.
