    Great phone but OEM battery has surprisingly short run time

    Purchased this phone due to its high quality construction, HD screen, dual core processor, 32 GB of onboard storage, and low price. I also wanted a relatively "pure" Android experience (without a lot of junk apps) and this phone delivers that. It was a near top-of-the-line device 5 years ago and is adequate even today for anyone who isn't a power user. Camera is only 5 megapixels, so anyone who takes lots of pictures may want a phone with a higher resolution camera. You're stuck with Android 4.2.2 unless you are willing to root the phone and install a 3rd party Android O.S., but I knew this going in. The battery life is surprisingly short even with modest use -- I got about 8 to 9 hours. Shortly after my phone purchase I bought a higher capacity battery so the phone had enough juice to ...

    "trebuchet has stopped working"

    The battery had a problem with bloating, and I was able to get a new one free thanks to the great support, and the phone seemed like a good value. It gets very hot, but otherwise it worked well. However the device has a defect that popped up randomly and keeps popping up and I have found no fix for it. The launcher crashes and gives the error "trebuchet has stopped working". The device is also very unstable with some apps. No matter how many times I wipe the phones data, the error still occurs. But otherwise, it is a good phone, although it is quite old.

    Fast, light and up to date

    What's good; newer Android software (not the latest, but close) What's bad; battery life. Using a smartphone for the tasks you expect will suck battery power FAST. If you like the phone, look up extended life batteries from Samsung. That's what I did. Indifferent: this phone has no facility to take a memory chip ... I thought that would be a problem until I looked at the memory use on the phone I had then. I wasn't using any more than 1 Gig of a 32 Gig chip, so I didn't miss the no memory chip facility. You WILL have to transfer old info to your phone through a PC ... unless you want to do it manually!

    Great deal

    Excellent product, has many features I probably don't even know about yet! (first time smart phone user) Only complaint is the short battery life. Purchased the largest battery possible for this unit, and still need to charge at least every day. Just purchased a portable charger to make sure I always have a fully charged phone in an emergency.

    Charging problems

    The phone works well, except recharging. At first it charged normally. Now, however, it will not charge the battery. I have two other Nexus phones , so I tried this new phone on three different chargers using different known good cables and it will not charge battery. I have had three Nexus phones exactly like this one, all still work well, despite being over four years old. This new phone is only three weeks old.
