After a week the strings are tuned and remain pretty much that way. The two bows that come with the violin are of REAL bad quality. Tightening one it "dismembered" the other one did the same, but I was able to get it back "to normal" a little bit. In any case, when the bow hair is tightened, it touches the center of the wooden part of the bow. So, I'll give a B to my purchase.
