On 90 plus year old cars you need nuts and washers to go with the screws. I ended up using 1/4” SAE screws with flat washers and lock washers to mount the frame and plate. The screw head covers that were provided worked just fine with these screws. None of this came as a surprise. Manufacturers can’t be expected to anticipate the use I had in mind. Looks great.
