    After another popular brand

    I had another popular brand in days gone by. There seems to have been a quality shift resulting in breakage after just a few uses. I ordered this as a replacement, although the colors are a bit strange, and put it to the test. It rapidly moves water at about a gallon per 6 pumps. It held up well during my test and did its job as advertised. One of the things I like about this model over the other brand is that it has a notched end allowing for use while resting on the bottom of your yak. While tested in a non-real world conditions, I feel that it will go the long haul. I will be heading out to paddle the Mississippi River from source to sea in a couple of weeks and will update this review upon my real world test.

    A Consideration

    The Seattle Sport pump, is equal to all, unquestionably. What aided my decision was the ability to replace the pumps components without having to replace the entire pump. Having had a pump fail when needed, and no way to disassemble in an attempt to revive, can leave you sloshing about in rough water, hoping your partner's is available, or relying on a sponge if no partner exists.

    Low Cost Insurance Policy

    This is a reliable, well made pump. I purchased a second one for use at another location with a different kayak. I wouldn't be without ne of these in a canoe or sit in kayak.

    works fine and is fairly lightweight . Im sure there are far more rugged and lighter options that are also more $$$ but this should meet the needs of 90% of recreational paddlers
