      Brilliant writing (as usual) but....

Although the story is a compelling read; he (P.R.) includes a table of historic time lines that is dry, laborious to read and demands much page turning to confirm specific memories of the story just read (I'm 76, raised in the Washington, D.C. area and, in my youth, heard many stories and speculative opinions from my parents, grandparents, god fathers, family friends, etc., about Lindbergh and his position on Hitler's Nazi Germany, his quest for the Presidency of the U.S. and his public and back-room polltick-ing.

    • What "if" and how the USA beLIEves that if you are successful at one thing in your life you'd make a great POTUS.

I like the way Philip ROTH thinks and Writes. He paints complete pictures of neighbors, neighborhoods, and cities. He enables the reader to feel the emotions of the characters

    • Relevant in light of today's political situation

Read it as library book. So many parallels to current political situation in US, I had to get a copy to keep on my book shelf.
