      Immensely thought provoking

Immensely thought provoking, not just historically but also to grapple with the psychology of these key perpetrators of the "Final Solution". Given the background of so many of the men involved, its a clear warning that combination of indoctrination, submissiveness towards authority, peer group conformity, and careerism, particularly in individuals with fascistic tendencies, has catastrophic, genocidal consequences. The danger of this recurring is very real.

    • Cold hard facts

I was a history teacher and always found it strange that anyone could convince smart people like the German that they had an enemy in the Jews who had been a vital part of the Germany economy. But then again a leader of a country who uses short phrases over and over and appeals to the lowest in a society seems to gain cult status. The big rallies in Nuremburg with the total focus on the leader help develop the feeling that he was above the law. The murder of millions because of their faith was one of the most shameful events in the history of the world.

    • Great deal

I purchased this book because of Jordan Peterson's recommendation. I have heard quite a few compelling things from this book and look forward to reading it. Quality is fair for the price. A few pen underlining on some pages but it doesnt bother me that much, what more can you expect when buying a used book?

    • Understand why you need to read this book, and read it.

This book carries an important message. I wish it was required reading in history class. My only disappointment comes from not having the right expectations: this is not a story book, but a huge collection of facts following a specific group of people from beginning to end, describing what happened.

    • Our underlying character, what we can become.

The record of the brutality of ordinary men like you and I, who under certain conditions demonstrates our inhumanity. Eye opening and dreadful.
