    Its a fail on a Mustang 2012

    Installed with a Kenwood DNX995S,programmed on initial setup,all good,everything goes ok,radio and climate controls work perfect,i turn off the car,park it,leave it,10 minutes later the interface is on,without the key,on initial setup again,check the pic,so programing like the instructions included and the online instructions different by the way,are not good,metra told me to update the interface and reconnect it,is not updatable I have windows 10 theres no drivers,the axxes software finds nothing,I have to do the vehicle setup several times until the interface stays off,next time I drive the car when I park it,its the same again,so I do not recommend it until I find a solution,it s expensive for not working correct,still is half the quality of Factory dash

    Just doesn't work

    My professional installers had a terrible time attempting to get this Metra Turbo Touch kit to work. Despite a software upgrade recommended by Metra, the unit fails to control switch on the Alpine head unit, or run the HVAC system correctly on my 2012 Mustang Shelby GT500. The unit has now failed completely and I am hoping that is has not damaged the SJB on the Mustang.

    Causes a current draw.

    I had this installed professionally. The steering wheel capabilities aren’t all there, like my call button and sync button. But I decided to keep it anyway because it was more hassle to get it removed and replaced. That’s not the worst part of my purchase. I didn’t realize there was a parasitic current draw until it had been 30 days after my purchase. That’s probably why I didn’t get a response from the seller. But it was at no fault of my own. I only found out about it killing my battery because I went out of town for the weekend. When I came back is when I found my car with a dead battery. The shop where I had everything installed troubleshot to find the cause was the kit.

    Better than the old Metra

    Had older version Metra previously and this is much better for functionality and also looks better in the dash than the older model (last was the 5832 I believe, then they had the 5836 I never tried and now the 5839). Only one issue: would be nice if they put the USB for upgrading on the front of the panel (installer updated before he put it in, but if they have more upgrades will have to pull the dash again). So 5 stars for the look of the product and the software, but 2-3 stars for updateability.
