Yuneec Q500 4K
This is a nice cost effective way of getting aerial shots as well as ground shots. Stable in light breezes but not so great in gusty conditions. Handles wind up to it's max safe operating windspeed with no trouble. Flight controls are crisp and responsive but yaw suffers a bit. Not the fastest UAV but it's not built for racing so there's no need for excessive speed. Camera footage is beautiful and detailed. Different flight modes add to this aircraft's appeal. Stylish fuselage looks great in the air or sitting on the ground. There are a number of improved aftermarket products for this UAV including several body mod kits and carbon fiber prop sets. All around good aircraft for the money. One last thing. Sometimes the camera can be slow to respond but still a pretty good camera gimbal. Nice Drone, Very Fragile Camera with No FPV range
The video signal is lost when the drone is only a couple of hundred feet away. Otherwise, it seemed like a good idea to have everything built in to the controller without the need for a mobile device (if it worked). The fragile CGO3 camera does takes great video and the 3 axis gimbal is super smooth.

The Q500 4K: A GREAT First (or Fifth) Drone
This machine met my expectations and filled my needs - and didn't break my bank account. I LOVE it! Just looking at photos doesn't do it justice. I went to my local Best Buy store and looked at their display model. It's a BIG bird, and it looks good too. Seeing it side by side with other drones finally sold me on the Q500. When I came across the Q500 on eBay available at a great price as a factory refurb unit with full 1 year warranty, well, I bought it right then. It's half the sale price of the same thing at Best Buy! I'm an experienced (20 years) RC Sailplane flyer, but was a bit cautious about flying a drone. As it turns out it's a no-brainer! My wife could easily fly it and she has no experience with any type of RC vehicle. As for myself, I started in the middle of a mowed hay field ... My wife could easily fly it and she has no experience with any type of RC vehicle. As for myself, I started in the middle of a mowed hay field next door. Popped up to 4 feet of altitude and landed. Repeating this maneuver until I reached treetop height (50 - 60 feet). GPS positioning keeps it directly above the take-off point (unless you choose to maneuver it elsewhere) right up to its 400 feet FAA altitude limit. You can increase the allowed altitude and range limits by using software and a USB programming jumper as long as you register your drone with the Feds. The large but relatively light airframe together with slower-turning 13-inch propellers makes for a quiet drone with a lower-pitch sound. The camera produces STUNNING 4K UHD video that is smooth and crisp regardless of turbulent air. The stabilized gimbal camera also comes with a handheld adapter so you can professional looking handheld video that moves steady and smooth. Install the Yuneec Smartphone App on a phone or tablet and others can watch the video telemetry from the Q500 on their device. The only drawbacks: Because the maximum forward airspeed is not quite 16 mph under the BEST conditions, you must be careful if flying in wind of 12 mph or you could loose it downwind. The software does not provide for pre-programmed flight paths or point to a way-point on the telemetry display on the transmitter. My advice is to thoughtfully plan each flight so you can anticipate situations and not get caught with your shorts down and your drone in a bad place. Just common sense. My first photo (captured from 4K UHD video) of my back acres at sunset, and an aerial view of the house from 300 feet are attached.

Fun and easy to fly
The Q500 4k is a high quality Quadcopter that is easy to fly, has features such as follow me and a selfie mode that turns the copter around toward the controller. I especially like the built-in screen on the controller (no need to connect a phone). I recommend get the Q500 with the hard case.

I own two of these. The Q500+ and now the Typhoon 4K. The main, obvious difference is the higher quality photos and videos you get with the CGO3 camera vs. the CGO2+. Range for video and flight transmission is more than enough at around 900 feet and I have yet to lose FPV while flying. The number of satellites on both the drone and the ST10+ transmitter are always rock solid, averaging around 17 for the bird and 10 for the radio. VERY responsive drone, very stable, very reliable. You can't go wrong with the value or price either because you also receive extra props, a steady grip, even a sun visor for the radio. If you are looking for speed and longer range then this drone is not for you. However, both video signal and flight range can be modified with after-market kits. The three flight ... The camera gimbal does a very nice job in ensuring butter smooth video every time. I can highly recommend the Yuneec Q500+ Typhoon 4K for the intermediate and up drone pilot, enthusiast. Safe flying!
