    Mac Pro 1,1 to 2,1

    Finishing touch on my Mac Pro 1,1 to 2,1 upgrade. Running multiple audio editing programs, lots of effects, no more not enough memory errors. Full specs: 2x 3ghz xenon, 32gb memory, 2x 2tb HD, 1 1tb HD, 1x 500gb HD running El Capitan, ATI radon 4870, MOTU audio express sound card, 32” 1080p LCD. Hell yeah.

    I had one issue, though, about two weeks after installing the purchased RAM in my Mac Pro. System Profiler started reporting two of the RAM modules were only 2GB each, rather than the correct size of 4GB each. After switching the two errant modules to different slots, and reseating the six other RAM modules, RAM is once again listed correctly in System Profiler as 32GB total. No overheating issues to report either with the Apple-approved heat syncs.

    More than worth the money...

    Performs well. Brought a 2008 Mac Pro that I'd just bought up to production speed without having to drop a bundle of cash. If I buy another Mac of this vintage again, I will buy more RAM on eBay again.
