    NO YOU CAN NOT CARRY ASHES IN THIS NECKLACE. There is a hole in the top where the necklace feeds through that ashes will fall out or water/sweat will be able to get in. PLEASE think twice before trying this for ashes of a loved one unless you keep them inside something else then place in this. when I received mine the necklace was knotted 3 times and it had multiple large noticable scratch marks. Needless to say wasn't happy with what I received and advertisement is false.
