These were based on the original Strike-Guard design and intend to be used on cork handled fishing poles. Newer poles that have foam handles and are larger in diameter than the older cork pole handles. It may also help to slide the Strike-Defender onto the end of the cork/foam instead of trying to clip it over the cork/foam. This method of attachment leads to less issues with breakage of the clips. Contact us for replacements.
