      Excellent book, worth it for any player

      I'm glad I was asked to review this. I'm an OLD player, with four Traveller variations before this one. The "little black book" original I found very fussy and complicated. The older Mongoose version was better, but kind of unfocused and all over the place. So I was hesitant to get this one. I needn't have worried; it finally got done right! It starts with a more detailed breakdown of creating a ship; but the book quickly gives you what you want, which is all those weapons & options you didn't get in the basic book: plasma & fusion guns, particle beams, torpedoes, barbettes & bays. Spinal mounts & screens. It goes to multiple ship options, and has a section on "exotic technology" in case you want to modify your Traveller universe: options for hyperspace and warp drive, actual shields, even ...
