        Get this for your LED bulbs!

        I put LED light bulbs in my new dining room fixture over the table. Every once in a while the lights would flicker. I did a little research and found the dimmers I had were not compatible with LED light bulbs! Since I had some of the Decora type switches already in ly house I decided to take out the old rotary dimmer and install this one. The price was good and so was the shipping. Easy to install if you read the instructions. The dimmer and switch operate separately. The switch turns the lights off/on. the slide dimmer sets the brightness. It dims smoothly and seems to dim down more than others. The slide dimmer can be set so when you turn on the lights, they are preset. If you want it brighter, slide the dimmer up, less slide the dimmer down. The 3 color option makes sense ...

        Dimmer switch

        An electrical switch is an on and off connection in a circuit. When this switch is in full bright and on, there should be little or no resistance between the two primary wire connectors. (Basically a non interrupted solid connection). Neither of these switches tested as such. I could never get either switch to work and I gave up on them, very frustrated. Hard to believe both switches that I received were defective, but they did not work for me, and I am mechanical and logical and a college graduate Engineer.

        Functional but Missing That Nice Click

        The dimmers are nice but don't have the hard click that the Lutron rocker switches do. They feel soft and spongy. But the actual dimmer slider is larger and easier to move than the Lutrons. Also the installation is nicer with the Levitons because they just require a screw in as opposed to the wire caps needed for the Lutrons.

        Grab bag of switches

        Actually received 12. Of the 6 I tried 2 were unusable. Of the 4 that worked only 1 had a working indicator light. Others had bent tabs, missing screws, evidence of being ripped out. Good value compared to $30 ea at the hardware store.
