PS3 Birds of Steel has a release date of March 2012. Choose between three different difficulty settings on the PS3: Simplistic (arcade), Realistic, and Simulator. Each bump in difficulty adds dramatic changes in the handling of your plane. Play in single player, four player cooperative, or online multiplayer game mode with up to 16 players around the world – recreate battles true to history with players living in the same countries that fought in WWII. Birds of Steel for PS3 appeals to all gamers with its range of difficulty and depth of gameplay. From casual FPSers to flight-sim veterans, you carve out the World War 2 you want to play. Combat missions for Birds of Steel include city bombings, tank defense, air combat patrol, artillery defense, vehicle/ship attacks, and more. In Campaign Mode, fly as British, German, Italian, Australian, US, and Japanese airman over the Pacific, the Mediterranean, and the Eastern Front. Battle for air supremacy in 100+ fighter/bomber/jet planes faithful to the war including the Wildcat, the Hurricane, the IL-2, and even the nimble Boomerang. Zoom in, spit bullet fire at enemies, all the while piloting your rig and keeping your jangled nerves in check simultaneously as you strive to keep your plane’s 100+ hit points. Each successful mission adds experience to your reputation which raises rank. Earn War Points to buy new planes. Unlock new paint jobs and nose art to customize your kill machine. Sounds of war deck the landscape: realistic gunfire, engines, and explosions. A narrator speaks to you through the plane’s radio, and you hear friendly radio chat from other pilots. The soundtrack backdrop features classic orchestral music through your PS3 setup to adorn your firefights. This, along with the incredible visual detail, fully immerse you in the rancor and exhilaration of World War 2 air combat. Inside your cockpit, you’ll notice sun glinting off of nicks on the nose and window panes.     Challenging, difficult aviator game that keeps you trying.

    Challenging game that requires you to learn to fly by its rules. Beautiful graphics are so detailed, you see the shimmer on the ocean and detail in the trees of the jungle. Sound effects are loud and accurate. Controls work well. Nice features allow you to tailor the the game's sound design to your own personal tastes; ie, individual levels for voice, sound-effects and music. Over-all a fun flying game simulation that won't leave you bored in the first few minutes, but challenged to continue to advance and learn the various skills and techniques to navigate you WW2 fighter plane through the skies for dogfights, bomb and torpedo drops.

    A suprisingly good flight sim.

    A rare gem of a flight sim on PS3, the way the flight controls and dynamics of the flying work are prob one of the best you will get on a PS3 era game. Its got more FLIGHT sim to it then you can expect. You really have to take into account the flight characteristics of a plane, its not an arcade style shooter. This is worth getting if your a ww2 flight combat fan.
