    Can NOT be used for Pressure Canning!

    The product description "Pressure Cooker" is deceiving. While it may pressure cook food, saving time, it is not a "Pressure Canner" and it cannot be used for pressure canning foods in glass jars. This item is also not FDA approved for such a function. This item was returned because of its limited use for the size and expense. I have since learned the Instant Pot Max is the appropriate device for "Pressure Canning"; however, it will only pressure can 4 pints at a time and cannot accommodate quarts. Therefore, I will likely not purchase an Instant Pot Max. My personal experience to date tells me the Instant Pot is highly overrated.

    I bought this Instant Pot Duo Nova 8 quart Multi-Use Pressure Cooker for my wife. I tried buying an Instant Pot for her years ago, but she wouldn’t let me, saying she didn’t need 1 more thing taking up counter space. As soon as she started using it, she was hooked. It speeds up cook times, and the meat in the various dishes she has made were perfect! With a sheepish smile, she told me she wished she had let me buy one for her long ago. Oh, well! Now we have it and all of us are enjoying it! Also, the instructions for the initial setup are very clear, so we could do it right.

    I bought this unit just so I can pressure cook ….and guess what it doesn't work. And it cost's too much to send it back ,so, I bought a new one at Walmart.
