Ultimately, the conversation was moved to the mfg in China. Despite the distance, communication was good. The China rep was very helpful and courteous. Working together we determined the problem. The manufacturer provided a replacement for the malfunctioning PCB. I have checked the instrument and it is working properly. Overall, I am pleased with the equipment and service- 5 stars to seller and mfg
