      has a safety switch

      I prefer this because of safety switch. If flame goes out, this box will cut power to oil pump after 45 sec, and light the LED warning light. This will prevent dangerous buildup of fuel fumes in burn chamber, that could explode. Switch also allows owner to test that system to be sure it's working, as well as serve as a cut-out if a tech wants to work on the furnace.

      Oil burner controller that didn't work

      Controller worked great for two days then it turned off. Hit the reset button to reset it and had to tap the side with my finger then it turned on for a day. Then it turned off again and wouldn't turn back on , So I took it off the oil burner and on the bottom there was a brown mark on it like it got burnt , The circuit breakers never went off.

      Honeywell Oil Burner control R8184G4000

      Was an exact fit, took old one out and replace it with the new one. Hookup was very easy, all wires matched with the old one. The job of replacing the Bad relay with the new one was it fitted perfectly without having to do any modifications. This review is all good, there is no bad.

      Good name that lasts.

      Bought furnace 39 years ago and orig. mechanical control failed over 20 yrs. ago. Replaced with one of these electronic units still in service. Bought this nos unit because I trust Honeywell and feel older designs aren't made to deliberately fail over time. This one's on my "critical spares" shelf ready when needed.
